Cliff Bar Hijacked the Candy Aisle!

Slide1

You can imagine my surprise as I entered the check out lane at our local grocery store only to see that the candy aisle has been hijacked by Cliff, Luna and Kind Fruit and Nut Bars.  Are these so called energy bars a wolf in sheep’s clothing or are they indeed a healthy alternative to M&M’s, Snickers and Skittles?  I purchase Cliff bars as a useful energy source when I’m preparing for long runs or during a triathlon.  However,  I have to admit I cringed when I saw wee folks and moms tossing them on the grocery belt in lieu of a candy bar.  Was my concern unwarranted?  Let’s compare the nutrition facts, and I’ll let you be the judge.
