This recipe is delicious and the perfect recovery drink after a hard workout. It’s key ingredients include Greek yogurt for protein to rebuild and repair muscle and coconut water for hydration and potassium or electrolyte replacement. The fruit, vegetables and chia seeds provide antioxidants to reduce inflammation naturally and carbohydrates to replace glycogen storage. The carbohydrate to protein ratio is 3:1, perfect for athletes!
I prefer to use Siggi’s yogurt as my base for smoothies because it’s made with simple ingredients and not a lot of sugar. Check out my future post as I show you how to swap it for sour cream, mayonnaise, oil, cream cheese, buttermilk, butter and more!
